Prep Time: 25 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Yields: 18 muffins

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and place the muffin liners (please don’t use silicon baking cups, they are not good for your health).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk baking powder, baking soda, salt, and flour until combined. Now throw it out the window. I’m joking! Set aside!
  3. In a big bowl, mash bananas, then add the eggs, brown sugar, melted butter, oil, vanilla, and whisk. Gradually whisk in the flour mixture until smooth, then add pecans and whisk a little more.
  4. Fill muffin liners 3/4 full (be careful not to put more dough because the muffins will double in size).
  5. Top each muffin with about one teaspoon of Nutella and use a toothpick or a fork to combine it with the batter.
  6. Now bake za muffins for about 15 minutes, but for the safety of your friends and family, initiate the toothpick test! That means a toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean 😎.
  7. EAT! Or store in an airtight container and eat later…which is a bad idea if you have little humans at home.

nutella banana muffins easy recipe

We all like bananas. It’s not a surprise. It’s a problem! Because in the supermarket most of the times we find them unripe, and at home, well, they are always eaten before they become overripe.

But bananas are not the main subject here.

Let me tell you my first experience with Nutella banana muffins.

Not long ago I moved to my home, happy that I did not pay rent anymore, and the first thing I did (after I carried my clothes and all the crap that I gathered throughout my life), was to equip my kitchen with everything I needed … and what I did not need. Why not throw the money on unnecessary stuff if you have the chance, right?

So I bought my first muffin pan.

Later the same day, I crave for muffins … so I’m going to cook some Nutella banana muffins.

Everything went right until I realized I forgot the baking powder, and my muffins were in the oven already.

I left them like this. What else do I have to do? Than to wait for them to “cook”, then look at my muse as she was hysterically laughing at my intelligence.

They still tasted good …

Nice recipe and pretty simple but the muffin pan you mentioned in helpful tools section is for 12 muffins and the recipe is for 18 muffins. Not cool

I did deliberately “mr / mrs Cooking Addict” because the recipe contains too much sugar and we all know it’s not healthy 😜

Why didn’t you add chocolate flakes? the dough appears to be too dry just with the banana…just saying

    1. TheFoodieDad says

If you add chocolate flakes, you give up Nutella. It’s either one or the other, otherwise it’s too sweet.
