Honey Based Recipes Against Cold and Flu: All Natural & Effective
What is the first action you take when you feel the early symptoms of the flu? Honey based recipes against cold and flu are very helpful, besides having a delicious taste.
Next time, when you have an itchy throat, try these tasty elixirs that will protect you from the seasonal colds and viruses.
For both recipes, you will need a small glass jar that can be sealed.
Honey-Garlic Cold Remedy Ingredients:
- Raw honey (preferably from local beekeepers) – enough to fill a jar
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
Preparation
- Carefully open up the garlic cloves, making sure that all the foils from the bulb are removed. Fill the jar with garlic and cover with raw honey.
- Tightly close the lid, write the date on the jar and store it in the pantry. In time, the garlic and honey mixture will turn black and will become more consistent. Some people keep the mix in the refrigerator, but it can be safely kept at the room temperature.
Take a teaspoon of honey daily, or you can spread it over a slice of bread. (dried or baked preferably)
Honey-Lemon-Ginger Cold Remedy Ingredients:
- Raw honey
- A little bit of ginger (two tablespoons of grated ginger)
- A teaspoon of cinnamon
- Optional: a teaspoon of chopped cocoa beans or cocoa powder
- Optional: a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
Preparation
- Mix the ingredients in a jar with the honey, and it could be served immediately. Keep it the pantry and take one teaspoon every day.
- It will be loved by the children due to its unique taste, but bear in mind that honey is not suggested for children under 1-year-old.
