Is it possible to overeat chia seeds?

Not quite.

If you consume more than your body needs (although highly unlikely to happen), you may feel slightly bloated-but this condition rarely occurs even to people with a low digestive capacity than usual.



Is it possible to be allergic to chia seeds?

As it is the case with any other seeds, some people may have or develop allergic reactions from eating them-although there were very few reported allergy reactions for eating chia seeds.

The most likely people to have an allergic reaction are those who have allergies to sesame or mustard seeds or any other mint family member.

What chia seeds contain?

The main vitamins contained are vitamin A, B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), C (ascorbic acid), E, folic acid.

They also include vitamins B3, B5, B6, B15, B 17, D, K, and inositol. The primary minerals contained are bromine, calcium, copper, iodine, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, silicon, sodium, strontium, sulfur and zinc.

It also contains many electrolytes and no less than 18 out of the 22 amino acids- of which 9 are essential ones.
